If you need to organize, declutter, restructure, eliminate, purge, and/or clean, this site will get you off to a great start and on the track to cleanliness, organization, decluttering, and de-stressing!

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

Take a deep breath and let’s plan your strategy! Your room probably didn’t get messy, dirty, or cluttered in a day, so don’t expect it to instantly become perfect. There are actually techniques involved when trying to declutter, and organize a room.

If your room is large, mentally section it off into smaller areas, such as the bookcase area or the TV area, etc. Focus only on that small area first so that you can make a dent in it and see some progress quickly. Even a little bit of progress makes you feel like you have accomplished something and then you are ready to tackle the next area.

I like to get out plastic bins and place them in the middle of the room and have them labeled. The first I label, “Give Away”. The second I label, “Put Away”, (meaning out of view). The third I label, “Throw Away”, and sometimes I just get a big garbage can and skip the bin for this group of stuff. The fourth group is things I need to keep, but don’t belong in that particular room. The last group is the things I want to keep in that room, but just need to find the right spot for, after I have cleaned that area, i.e. dusted and vacuumed, etc.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

These are just a few tips I use when I need to declutter my room. I also use these same techniques when I am organizing, cleaning, and decluttering my garage and/or office.

Saving money has become a very important issue for many families these days. Did you know that you can actually save money by getting rid of clutter in your home? Organize your home and you will see how much you save.

One way you can do this is to sell items that you do not need any more and get some cash. Think about the extra things that you have in your house or in your office and that you are not using. There are several ways you can sell your stuff and turn your things into cash. Think about selling the items online or you can also organize a yard sale. Why not organize a big yard sale where you can sell your things and invite your neighbors and friends to come and sell their things too. This way there will be a bigger variety for the buyers and everybody will be happy.

If you are not in need of extra cash you can donate some of your things. Chances are you will get a tax break on your donations. Once you organize the clutter you will realize the value of all the things that have been taking up space in your house. Organizing will also help you to have less of the same things. Most of us buy double items because we do not know where the first one is. When everything has its own place you have more space in your home and …. you save money!

When your things are organized and properly stored they will last longer. You don’t have to buy the same things over and over again. Storing your stuff in sealed plastic containers and other special storage (depending on the kind of things you are organizing in them) will help you save money, because they won’t get damaged.

Having your papers organized will also help you save money. Think about the late fees you had to pay, because you forgot to open the mail. You can prevent this by having a well organized space where you open your mail, sort and file your papers.

Does all the clutter in your house and in your life make your head spin? Well it doesn’t need to anymore, visit my Organizing Clutter Blog for easy ways to take control of your clutter.

A few years ago on a Monday night I was giving my 10 year old daughter instructions on cleaning her room. I was pointing out the clothes and nick nacks that needed to be put away, where to put them and how to organize the room. I was going a mile a minute just picturing the progress she would make with my expert advice when she said to me “MOM, ISN’T THERE A TUESDAY?”

That brought me up short. I didn’t know what she meant until I stopped to think what she was saying. When we get an idea that we are going to organize and everything will be perfect right now, remember the saying: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”we don’t need to get everything de-cluttered and organized in one day.

It is an important step in organizing anything, a room, a closet, a desk, an office, shelves, attic, or garage, or other places we realize it is important that first comes chaos during the organizing process. When looking at the project it may feel overwhelming but realizing physically things will purposefully be undone and many times emotionally we will be undone and there will be chaos, but when focusing on the goal we can be sure it will all be organized and something better will have been accomplished. It shows something new is being created in your life. Remember the Phoenix was burnt to ashes? Out of the ashes it was reborn.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

When doing many ordinary tasks first comes chaos. For Example: Take clothes shopping for instance. By searching through racks and stacks of clothes, discarding many and trying on others; we eventually find what we want and then purchase them. Once home it is necessary to sort through the bags and separate the clothes in piles according to the person they were intended for. These will then be taken to their rooms to be put away. The shopping experience went from chaos to organization.

For people who sew or quilt first comes organized chaos. There is the process of selecting the fabric among a plethora of bolts of fabric, finding the right pattern, gathering the necessary supplies, cutting the fabric into pieces, then sewing it all back together to make a beautiful quilt. This beautiful work of art started in creative chaos.

When students are studying for a test it first starts with chaos. There are books to read, notes to refer back to, study groups to attend and organizing of thoughts. Then comes the test and it all comes together.

By taking things one step at a time we will accomplish what we want to accomplished and be organized with the least amount of stress. Remembering that first comes chaos both physically and emotionally but out of this will rise calm, peace and a sense of accomplishment.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

When tackling a room, a box, the kitchen cupboards, or the closet that will hardly close just remember there IS a Tuesday and by starting with one thing at a time, realizing out of chaos comes beauty organizing will be a rewarding and less stressful.

If you are feeling suffocated by your “stuff” or dragged down by a lack of organization, it’s time to declutter. House improvement is within your grasp. You just need to get off on the right foot in order to declutter your home and to get organized once and for all. That involves doing a few things before you touch a single item in your home.

First, you need to reflect on what got you into this situation in the first place and to then devise means by which you can avoid going through the same situations again. There’s nothing more frustrating than finally decluttering your home, only to find yourself back in the same position a few months later. Clutter doesn’t happen overnight and you can’t expect a permanent cure for the causes to come after a decision to declutter. House disorganization has roots. Figure them out and you’ll be in great shape to stay organized.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

Second, you most definitely need a good decluttering plan. If you’re like most people, the idea of somehow decluttering your life may seem almost insurmountable. There are complexities involved and getting organized isn’t as easy as running through your house, stuffing garbage bags with items and hoping for the best. Professional and experts have designed awesome blueprints for decluttering and you should definitely get your hands on one and follow it step by step for the best possible results.

If you’re reading this article, that’s a very strong sign that it’s time for you to declutter. House improvement can be dramatic and easy if you go about it the right way. Get your mind straight and grab a good plan. Ready, set, declutter!

If your “stuff” is beginning to accumulate to the point that it is making you uncomfortable, you need to take immediate action. Learn how to get rid of clutter now.

It’s amazing. You may think have some idea of how frustrating clutter and disorganization is to you, but you can’t really understand how significantly it is crushing the quality of your life until you’ve solved the problem.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

A cluttered refrigerator is not only an inconvenience, it can be down right nasty. If you can block out some time to get this done, you can declutter house and home by starting in the kitchen and look forward to a week of blissful refrigerator door openings. This is one of those small projects that can make a big difference on the efficiency of your home. Try it out and see if being clutter free doesn’t feel significantly better than putting up with the clutter.

Things You’ll Need:

dishwashing soap
sponge trash can
a small box of baking soda
about an hour of time

Step 1: Empty the whole refrigerator

I know it sounds like a pain. But, might as well clean it out while you’re at it. Take everything out and, and wipe the inside of your refrigerator with a soapy sponge. Open up your brand new box of baking soda and put it on a shelf somewhere in the back of the refrigerator. The baking soda will absorb odors and keep your refrigerator smelling fresh.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

Step 2: Toss out the old and expired food

If it’s wilted, smelly, fuzzy or expired it needs to go in the trash. This is your refrigerator, you don’t want it to turn into a science experiment. It’s a great feeling to know there are no nasty surprises hiding in your Tupperware.

Step 3: Group your food items by type If you group all your food items by type outside before you put them back in your refrigerator, you can get a better idea of the kind of space you need inside to accommodate your items.

Step 4: Adjust your shelves

All your food is laying out grouped by type. Now you can see what items are taller or shorter and adjust your shelves accordingly. The top shelve should probably be left the tallest, to accommodate large pitchers and bottles.

If you have a lot of canned drinks or large liter bottles of soda, you can look into getting special wire racks that either sit on the shelf or hang underneath the shelf to free up more space (there are many of these declutter house gadgets now on the market, so keep your eyes pealed at discount stores.) Allow at least one long shelf that reaches across the whole refrigerator for cakes and large baking sheets.

Step 5: Return food to the refrigerator in groups

Put all your sandwich making or deli items in one drawer. Put your butter and cream cheese items in the butter compartment (sometimes on the door). Put fruits in one bin, put vegetables in another (these are usually on the bottom.) Bottled items can go on the door, just make sure they are grouped by type; jellies together, salad dressings together, sauces together and so on.Designate certain areas for foods that have been cooked and only need to be reheated, an area for meats (beef, seafood, poultry), and another for dairy products.

Step 6: Maintain, repeat and expand

As beautiful as your fridge looks now, it will only be functional if you maintain what you’ve done by cleaning out the fridge once a week (tossing out old food and wiping it down.) This weekly habit will keep your refrigerator looking organized and clean throughout the week. Remember to put items back in their correct grouping.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

After you’ve cleaned your refrigerator and seen the difference and satisfaction it brings to your life, think about expanding your decluttering to other parts of your life; you can declutter house, car, garage, office, basically anyplace that isn’t functioning as well as you know it could. Imagine what your life could feel like if the rest of it ran as smoothly as your refrigerator?

Does your teenager need help on organizing her room? His is a comprehensive article on how to get and keep her room organized.

Teenagers are busy, busy people. Often they get a bad rap from adults calling them lazy. But in my experience, which includes rearing five daughters and professionally working with troubled teens they are ambitious, fun and interesting. Teenagers are my favorite age.

However, a lot of fights happen between parents and teens because they don’t keep their rooms straight and clean. Out of five girls I had one who was habitually disorganized. We finally came to the agreement that she would keep the door to her room closed and would clean and organize it once a week. That worked for both of us. Now that she is an adult and has her own place she is organized. Teach correct principals and eventually they will govern themselves.

I had a teenager ask me to help her organize her bedroom so let’s get to it:

She told me that her room is so full of clutter she avoids it. With a few tips and systems in place this can become her refuge from the world and a place to bring her friends to chat and have a good time.

You have recognized there is a problem so now what you need to do is start working from the inside out in your room. Turn on your favorite music, get a treat and dig in. Start in your closet by taking everything out. I know this is a lot of work, but I suspect half of it is already on the floor. You need to assess what space you have and get rid of all those clothes you never wear because you don’t like them; they need mending, don’t fit or are out of date. If you have seasonal clothes:

Place the items that hang, in the back of your closet on the rod or move to a different closet in your home if there is space.

Fold the clothes and put them in a clear plastic container with a lid and put it on the top of your closet shelf. Label the container (seasonal clothes or you can put winter, summer, skiing etc).

Or use the under the bed roll out containers to store seasonal clothes. If your bed isn’t tall enough to do this, buy the bed risers and that will give you an additional six to eight inches of space under your bed.

Whatever you do, don’t keep the clothes you wear now with clothes you wear at a different time of year. Rotate your clothes in and out.

You have premium spaces in your room and you want these areas available for the things you use most often.

Click here for a great Organizational Tool!

Now that you have taken everything out and looked at each piece of clothing, hang them back up in the closet, putting like things togethershirts, skirts, pants, dresses and so on. Have a place for your shoes, either a shoe rack on the floor or a hanging one on the closet rod or over your door.

Next go to your dresser and take everything out of your drawers. If you want, you can do one drawer at a time. Use containers in your drawers to keep everything together and organized. Neatnix has great containers for organizing drawers, I use them and it even amazed me what a time saver they have been to me.

Your desk is next. Go to your desk drawers and do the same thing, but if you really want to start on the clutter on your floor, well okay. Pick up only the clothes at this time. Either hang or fold the clothes as you pick them up or put them in the hamper if they are dirty. Assign a different drawer for different things, one for sport clothes, one for underwear, tee shirts, shorts, pants, and night clothes. Of course you can double up in the drawers; again containers will make your life easier as things will stay neatly in their intended place.

Keep a hamper in your closet, one that hangs or one on the floor. You can keep it in the corner of your room, get one that is cute and looks good. Wicker baskets are nice, they can also be spray painted any color you like.

I know this is time consuming, clutter didn’t happen overnight. Give yourself the time needed to do a complete job and then you won’t be wasting time every day or avoiding your room because of all the clutter.

Click here for a great Organizational Tool!

If you have sport equipment that has to be kept in your room, get a basket to contain the rackets, balls, whatever it is. If you don’t use them very often see if they can fit on a closet shelf or in a pull out under the bed. You can store your sheets for your bed under your bed in a pull out container if you need to. Fold the top and bottom sheet and put them in the matching pillow case to keep them nicely folded together. This works well for the linen closet also.

Take everything out of your cubby holes and drawers in your desk area. How many pens and pencils do you have? Get rid of all but five. Only keep the ones you really like. It doesn’t matter that it is a good pen if you don’t use it. It is a waste of time to pick up a pen and put it back because you don’t like it so you don’t use it. Put containers in your drawers to hold everything you put in them, pens, paper, glue, note pads, tape, computer disks, pushpins for a cork board, notes from friends, whatever it is you keep in your drawers.

Then when you have used something it is easy to put it away because you can just toss it in to the container where it lives. If you don’t have drawers in your desk organize the top of your desk the same way, using containers for everything. Buy cute containers, again Neatnix has great organizers you can use. Have a container for your school papers on the top of your desk where it is handy, or in one of the drawers. Do not keep all of your school papers. Keep a sampling of your work. Put these in a large manila envelope and put it on your closet shelf. Only save one envelope per year.

Click here for a great Organizational Tool!

Make your bed every morning and I mean every morning. If you do school work on your bed it will be ready for you when you come home from school, your friends and you can sit on your bed to talk, and at night it will be ready to turn down the sheet to sleep. If you do your homework on your bed be sure to put it in your back pack for the next day (hang your back pack from your desk chair) or if it is ongoing it can be on your desk, in the designated basket.

Make up, manicure supplies, perfumes and other personal things put together. Always put likes togetherGet cute containers and put your make up all in one place. You can even have separate containers within a larger container. Do the same with the other things. The things you don’t use very often either put on a shelf in your closet, if it is convenient, or in the bottom drawer of your dresser or in a space that is not premium space but readily accessible. Another good organizing container that has more than one use is a shoe rack over your door. It can hold scarves; baskets of things like make up, hair brushes, blow dryer, curling iron, and other girl things.

Now it is time to pick up anything that is left on the floor. Put these things either in the desk drawers, recycle container, garbage or the basket of ‘take things to other rooms that shouldn’t be living in your bedroom’.

If you eat in your room put the dirty dishes by the door when you are done and as you leave the room they can go back to the kitchen. As you clean out your room get some kind of containera basket, box, sack to put things in that need to go to a different room. After you have finished with your room then they go back, don’t waste your time doing it one at a time.

Click here for a great Organizational Tool!

You now have a system in placeeverything has a place and you put everything in its place. I know that doesn’t always happen, but by everything having a home they will have a better chance of living there. When you try on clothes and are in a mad dash and leave them on your floor, make a pact with yourself you will hang them up before going to bed, no matter what. If you threw them down because you really don’t like them and will never wear them, recycle them, and don’t clutter up your space with them.

By assigning a place for everything and having containers to hold them you will be able to get in the habit of putting things away so clutter doesn’t accumulate. You will like your bedroom again and won’t avoid it. Your mom will be saying, “why do you spend so much time in your room, I never see you”.

It is incredibly frustrating to cope with clutter on a day to day basis. It slows you down, it fouls your mood and it is sapping you of energy that would be better used on creating the life of your dreams. To declutter life is to de-stress your life.

If you are ready to make the commitment to finally declutter, these tips will get you on your way:

Plan to Organize

I know it seems a bit redundant to plan your organization.
But, if you just throw yourself into a full blown decluttering session without a plan you will soon be exhausted and demoralized. Take the time up front to write down your goals for what you want to accomplish.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

Start on Something Small

It’s ok to work on the smallest unit possible, especially when you first get started. Start with one drawer. Leave the second drawer until tomorrow, or later this afternoon. The idea is to not let yourself get overwhelmed. This way, if you have to stop suddenly, or you anticipate interruptions, you don’t have to leave the room messier than when you started.

Use a Stopwatch

Knowing that you have a set limit of time to do your work makes the job less intimidating. Use the stopwatch function on a digital watch or a kitchen timer and set it up to ring when your time is up. Remember to factor in time to put things away. Racing against the clock will almost make decluttering fun.

To organize your Home, Office, or Garage, Click here

Don’t be Afraid to Ask for Help

Unless you live alone, you shouldn’t be the only one decluttering. You
probably didn’t create all this clutter by yourself, so there is no sense in clearing it by yourself (unless you enjoy seeing it pile up as soon as you’re done.) Have a talk with the family, your roommate or partner and make sure everyone is on the same page. You will be a lot more successful getting them onboard if you can give them clear direction as to what you want them to do.

Let Others Know About Your Project

The more people you tell, the less likely you are to fall back into clutter. It will cement your commitment to tell your friends, your family, and any one else in your life what you are doing. Letting others know your goal, will push you that much harder to complete it, and sometimes a little motivation is the only thing that separates us from what we want.

Keeping these 5 strategies in mind as you start to declutter life, home and office will ensure that you accomplish your goal of a clear, clean and decluttered space where you can feel at peace. Don’t wait another day, start your declutter project today!

Before you begin a major cleaning project around your home, it will make the job easier for you to get organized. First, be sure that all your tools are in top shape, your cleaning products are on hand and fresh, and your housework cleaning checklist is current. Go through your house and note problem areas: items in need of repair, unusual stains, and jobs you only tackle seasonally. Add your regular jobs to this list so you have a complete reference. Break the list into sections by room. This list will be your guide.

This is also the time to sort through the contents of closets and shelves. House cleaning is made easy when there is a minimum of clutter. You will be able to focus on the actual cleaning instead of getting bogged down in moving the clutter around to clean beneath it. Divide the “stuff” in your house into three piles according to how long it has been since you last used it. Label these piles to keep, to give away, and to throw away. When you have tossed or given away the things you no longer need, or when you have held a garage sale to clear that clutter, you are ready to clean.

For a great organizational tool, CLICK HERE.

Before you begin, check the condition of your cleaning equipment. If it is necessary, go ahead and purchase good replacements now. At a minimum, you should have a good broom and dust pan, a wet mop or sponge mop (depending on the type of floors you have), a dust mop, soft cloths for polishing, dusting, and wiping off fixtures, and a variety of brushes to clean the different surfaces on your walls, windows, and in your bathroom and kitchen. You may need a wax applicator or a window squeegee. A good vacuum with a variety of attachments or carpet sweeper is also a wise investment. Make sure that you have serviced your vacuum recently and that you have fresh bags, replacement rollers, or replacement belts on hand. Quality cleaning supplies are made for a particular job or surface. They will speed your jobs because you will not have to work as hard to get the job done. Also, this equipment will last for years if cared for correctly.

Next, be sure to have enough of your favorite cleaning supplies on hand. At a minimum, you will need glass cleaners, tile and grout cleaners, kitchen and bathroom disinfectants, degreasers, and soaps or detergents specially formulated for the type of floors you have. Again, the correct formula for each job will protect the surfaces in your home while cutting the time involved in cleaning those surfaces. Products that are too harsh can destroy a surface, while products that are too mild will not get the job done. Planning and purchasing the right products before you begin the project will also save time because it will not be necessary to stop in the middle of a job to run to the store because you have run out of cleaner. Be sure to cross-check your list of supplies against your housecleaning list and the tasks at hand before you purchase your supplies.

Find a sturdy bucket, tote, apron, or rolling cart to store all your cleaning equipment in one place. This container can be taken from room to room, saving you the time and energy to go back and forth from your cleaning storage area to the room you are cleaning. If size is a factor, fill the container with only the tools and products you will need for the room you are currently cleaning. It is a good idea to also store items on the cart that might need refilling in the room on which you are focusing. For instance, carry trash can or wastebasket liners, soap refills, light bulbs, or tissue boxes and toilet paper. Have a place to store any items that belong elsewhere in the house or to carry out any garbage you find in the room.

At the very least, take two plastic bags with you – one for trash and one for stuff to put elsewhere. Organizing what you carry in your tote or cart is made simpler if you have your housework cleaning checklist at hand. That way, for example, you will have made notes to yourself that when you clean the bathroom, you will also need the screwdriver to tighten the towel rack, and will need to refill the hand soap container. House cleaning is made easy by being organized and planning ahead.

Organizing your life with time management skills will help you in every area of your life. Not only will it improve you emotionally and physically, but it will increase your productivity at work, at school, at home, and even decluttering your house, office, and garage.

Organize your life and get results with 10 essential time management tips. Managing time is much about managing self. Make choices, develop habits, and take the actions to get the results you crave. Read on for practical steps to get the important stuff done.

To organize life and manage time we have to aim to manage self. How we spend time that produces results (or lack of) is about choices, habits, and actions. Here are ten tips to get the most of your day and the results you want.

Make Deliberate Choices

Intentionally choose how to use time. Time can be used pouring out your strengths, passions, skills, and values, and not be wasted. Our choices can make it such so choose wisely.

1- Know Your Priorities- For least resistance align priorities based on who you are. What is really important to you? List 3-5 top priorities in order. Look at them daily. What goals are most important right now for long-term fulfillment?

2- Be Aware of Time Bandits- Monitor how you spend time for 24-72 hours. Notice where time is wasted or how it can be put to better use. EX: Run errands once a week versus daily trips. Notice distracters, those things that steal your focus such as phone calls, e-mail, things breaking down, etc.

3- Set your Mind on the Ultimate Result- Thoughts guide behavior. Focus negatively, and you may get discouraged and quit. The Wright Brothers focused on the end result, ‘what it takes to fly’, not being grounded. Choose your line of thought or your brain will take a shortcut and choose the thought pattern/ habit that is in place, whether or not it serves you. It is a choice! You can accept or reject a thought. Choose a positive, results-aimed mind set always!

Develop Great Habits and a Structure to Support Your Actions

Many people are busy, but without the structure and habits in place to get the results they crave. Know that great habits with structure support you to complete primary tasks. You then get results which lead to more freedom to do what you want (without the fear or guilt).

4- Have an Efficient Scheduling System- Whether using a pda, home computer, or a planner, it is critical to have a structure that supports your planning style. I love the planner systems at www.day-timer.com and www.franklincovey.com which provide monthly calendars, daily appointment schedule, space for daily notes, and more in one efficient hand-held planner.

5- Schedule Priorities First, Block Time, and Take Action- Block time for priorities first, then follow through. Focus on how great you will feel after doing it. Block time for various roles and avoid multi-tasking to maintain focus. Do not do housework during business hours. Set yourself up for success by scheduling high energy tasks when you have energy and low energy tasks later. Stay fully focused to complete priorities with excellence. Give full attention to one activity at a time.

6- Set Time Limits- Set a time limit when you begin a task then stay focused. This takes practice. Most tasks take longer than we anticipate, but it will save time. Most of us could waste plenty of time on e-mail, but can save a lot when we set a limit.

7- Plan a Day Ahead- For most, each day is different. It helps to plan your schedule the day/evening before. Then you can jump out of bed in the morning with a smile on because you know exactly what to do.

8- Create Daily Habits that Serve You- What daily action would make the greatest positive difference? Examples: Spiritual studies, go to bed or wake up earlier, watch less tv, read, make three new contacts, drink more water, do something you love, limit time for e-mail, write, organize, plan, create, help others, etc. Make it specific. Ask which daily habits uplift you and which hold you back then make a shift.

Be in Action on What is Most Important

Reaching goals means taking the steps that get you there… no matter what. You are either interested or committed. Life will get in the way. Fear will want to hold you back. It is a choice to continue in action on the important stuff, and rewards come when you do.

9- Do It, Delegate It, or Dump It- It is easier to stay in action on priorities when you leverage your strengths, passions, values, and skills. Learn in action and gain experience. Delegate what is not your cup of tea. Dump what is not that important right now. Block time to handle tolerations that drain your energy such as clutter, repairs, etc.

10- Simplify and Systematize- Put systems in place to make things easier. Consistently seek the more efficient way. EX: position employees to leverage their strengths/ passions, run errands weekly when stores are low traffic, when you buy something get rid of something to avoid clutter, organize the office at the end of each day, give everything a home so nothing is ever lost. Strive for efficiency.

To organize life and manage yourself for peak performance you have to feel your best. This means scheduling rejuvenation time regularly to enjoy what you love and what life has to offer right now. Implement these tips and raise your quality of life… StartingNow!

Nowadays, with the advances in telecommuting, many of us are spending more and more time in our home offices. Unfortunately, the more time spend there, the messier things get. Here are some tips to keep your workspace (and your sanity) clutter free.

Your home office is important to you. You have to pay bills, spend time on the Internet, and create and work on projects in your office. However, keeping your office organized is often difficult when you do not have the proper organizing materials or space for getting everything organized.

Check out the following steps for help with organizing your home office computer area and keeping it that way:

1. To organize your office you will need at least one file cabinet, desk drawers, shelves, and paper trays. Paper trays will allow you to store paperwork that you are waiting to file, or bills that you have to pay. They offer organization to the papers rather than cluttering your desk with several piles. You can stack the trays as high as you need them. Other items for organization required are power strip adapters, power squid, and computer extension cord.

2. It is difficult to keep your computer area clear of pens, paper, and other desk items when you do not have drawers. If your desk does not have drawers you will want to by an office drawer set to help you keep your pens and other items off of the desk area.

3. A filing cabinet will also help you keep the papers off the desk. A file cabinet will keep the keyboard and mouse from being tied up.

4. Shelves will also going to keep knick knacks off of your computer desk area. You can have your calendar, pictures, and even your desk light off your desk surface to help you keep your area clean.

5. The largest problem a person generally has with their home office computer area clean is the wiring for the computer and other electronics. Printers, televisions, lights, speakers, and cable modems can take up a lot of your desk space. The wires from these electronics are usually in the way that’s why you need to have a power strip adapter, power squid, and extension cords. The power strip adapter set will let you plug in larger cords, which enables you to plug more equipment into one power strip. The power squid is another device that allows multiple cords to be plugged in to keep them from getting tangled up. A computer modem extension cord will also enable you to keep the cord inside a box rather than getting tangled up.

6. Zip ties are another way to keep your computer area in your home office clean. The zip ties can keep the cords from getting tangled and out of your way.

7. The last step you can take to organize your computer area in your home office is to use as many wireless electronics as possible. Your mouse and keyboard are just two options you have for going wireless. This allows you to have fewer wires crossing the desk area to be plugged in eliminating the unsightly mess.
